Since listening to Matt G’s presentation on ‘On demand TV’ I have been wondering what the future of TV advertising will be. With people no longer wanting to wait for their favorite TV programs people are searching their interactive TV archives and even the Internet to find what they want. This is a great thing for viewers but what does this mean for advertising? With people not watching TV in the same way anymore it means people are coming into less and less contact with TV advertising….. does it mean it will be fazed out? I believe advertisers will have to turn to more creative methods such as viral marketing to get new shows and products noticed. i am going to research into On demand TV and its advertising methods and also new ways in which advertisers may choose to go.
