LED’s + Sheep = amazing viral marketing video!

These links have been so incredibly useful when researching and looking at future projections for the mobile advertising industry.

While flicking through the iPhone apps store a week or so ago I came across an advertisement app to promote the up and coming horror  film ‘The unborn’. So I gave it a click!

Mobiadnews.com has done a full write up of the app release that is pretty interesting. The app itself didn’t really interest me, it was a bit dull to be honest (the fake call was I admit the high point) BUT the idea to promote films in this way did.

As most films rely on movie trailers and billboards to generate publicity it is great to see the big film companies getting a bit more creative.

Neil Wirasinha, Director of International Advertising & Media at Universal Pictures International said,

“The app gives people an insight into what the movie is like. This is primarily through the trailer, which is the usually the strongest part of a movie marketing package. And the iPhone is an excellent carriage for that,”

With apps becoming more and more influential in the advertising market place I am looking forward to watching different advertising demographics move into this new area of development, and bring back some excitement to advertising.

*please excuse the random posh accent (the pressure of being recorded got to me) Oh and yes that is llama in the background*

Tweetdeck

Twitter

Twitter

Ok so I have had my twitter account for a few months now but without an iPhone I felt a little let down by the experience, BUT today in lesson we spent the whole morning ‘learning’ how to use it properly…..

I started off on my Twitter account on the usual Twitter site…. this was no good! I was advised move to TweetDeck and it all became clear. Before I saw the posts… well simply as one dimensional posts but with Tweetdeck it became clear that  there is a lot more to be gained and soon conversations and the exchanging of info started. As I added more and more of my class mates it became apparent what a great tool this could actually be! I also found that using a different app such as Tweetdeck makes searching for topics a whole lot easier and more relevant.

Although the interface is a tad dull to say the least I do have to thank Tweetdeck for showing me what Twitter had to offer. I still feel the more I play with it the more will be revealed to me. I would advise anyone who doesn’t ‘get’ Twitter to keep at it, although for something you seem to have to try so hard to get I am surprised anyone has stuck with it long enough to reap the benefits! I can now see myself becoming another Twitter addict…. watch this space!

*note* I was however a bit trigger happy with my refresh button and my allowance soon ran out which was pretty frustrating….. limit yourself!!

The site is for a guy called Kyle Bean who is a illustrator, designer and maker of “things” based in Brighton.

I have recently started experimenting with vector art and found this website with some amazing illustrations.  I also really like the use of typography and the childlike even innocent feel to the illustrations….Beautiful! It is created by a illustrator and graphic designer called Zutto from Moscow.
